People can't pay with debit or credit cards
We offer three different types of donation options:
- PayPal
- Stripe
- GoGetFunding Card Payments
Their availability may be restricted or unavailable in certain countries. Stripe and GoGetFunding Card Payments are dedicated card payment handling services. If you do not have the option to connect one of these services at step four of your set up pages, you may have the option to offer card donations via PayPal.
In order to receive donations via debit or credit cards, using PayPal you need to have a verified PayPal Premier or Business account (with a verified PayPal Personal account, others will only be able to donate through another PayPal account).
It's easy and free to upgrade from a PayPal Personal to a Premier or Business account. Here's how:
- Log in to your PayPal account.
- Click Upgrade Account.
- Click Upgrade Now.
- Choose Business or Premier account.
- Click Continue.
- For a Business account, fill in your business information and click Continue. If you do not have a business, please choose sole trader or individual as your business type and enter your personal information. Do not select charity (even if you are raising funds for a charity) unless you are that charity.
